The recycle center is currently only accepting #1 screw top plastic bottles, #2 milk jug type bottles and #2 "rainbow color" solid containers (click on link for photos and more information). Most other plastics have no domestic markets at this time and as of 6/18/2018, are no longer accepted at the recycle center.
New as of September 2023 - The CRC added 3 single stream bins for plastics that have no domestic market. We are calling on the Canyonlands Solid Waste Authority to remove those bins, because most, if not all, of the plastics collected will be landfilled, incinerated, or sent to "global markets". We are pround of the over 33 year history of the recycle center only selling to domestic markets. Don't ruin a good thing! |

Household Hazardous Waste is now accepted during open hours at the Transfer Station. Monday to Friday, 8 am to 3 pm. Saturday 8 am to noon. More information can be found here.
